A bridge course for students of classes 2 to 10 has been launched by the Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad. The course is 45 days long and covers Marathi, Mathematics, English, Science, Hindi, and Social Science.
The course will be made available on the portal maa.ac.in. The objective of the course is to help students catch up and make up for the academic loss they suffered due to the pandemic.
The bridge course will connect two successive classes and make the transition for the promoted students easier while compensating for the losses that the students have suffered due to several factors that were at play during the lockdown.
The bridge course also entails assessments that the students will have to take. The tests will be both offline and online, although the offline mode is subject to the pandemic situation.
As of now, the schools and colleges in Maharashtra remain closed. However, the government has indicated that it would consider reopening schools in the districts where the virulence appears arrested. The schools in villages that are relatively corona-free will be reopened for classes 10 to 12, if no fresh cases are reported.
