Powering Educational Transformation: 8 MOUs Signed Between MoE, MSDE and IBM


In a landmark development, the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) have signed eight Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with technology giant IBM. These agreements, signed with a vision for educational innovation and skill development, mark a significant step towards leveraging advanced technologies to enhance the educational landscape. These agreements, in fact, signal a strategic alliance aimed at preparing students and professionals for the demands of a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The specifics of each MOU unveil a collaborative initiative that spans across various educational domains. From incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) and data science in curricula to fostering research and development in emerging technologies, these partnerships are poised to bring about transformative changes. The Key highlights include the emphasis on upskilling and reskilling efforts, aligning educational programs with industry needs, and harnessing the potential of technology to bridge skill gaps. For school education, IBM will provide access to digital SkillsBuild for high school students, teachers and trainers on cutting-edge skills. IBM will also refresh CBSE's AI (Artificial Intelligence) curriculum for classes XI and XII. In addition to this, IBM will work closely with the Department of Higher Education to provide the affiliated students and faculty with access to digital content, experiential learning and fresh skills suitable for their technical careers. 

In its continued collaboration with state vocational education and skilling departments, IBM supports job seekers, long-term unemployed and school dropouts,  to gain professional skills required to re-enter the workforce.
