CBSE Board Exam Dates and Announcements

After two years of online examinations, 2023 will be the year of reviving offline mode completely for students of classes 10 and 12. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the board exam date sheet 2023 for Classes 10 and 12 in PDF form recently. As per the schedule, exams for class 10 will be held from February 15 to March 21, and for class XII exams are scheduled from February 15 to April 5, 2023.

Along with the date sheet, the board also informed that competency-based questions will be a new feature as per the NEP norms. These questions will be in different formats, including objective type (20%), multiple-choice, source-integrated and case-based (30%), and long-form type (50%), including constructing response type, assertion and reasoning. The competency-based questions focus on the ability of students to demonstrate their actual learning and proficiency in a subject.

The practical exams for 2022-23 academic session already started on January 2, and will continue till January 14, with invigilation being done by external examiners across all CBSE affiliated schools. Students have to appear for these practical exams on the scheduled date as no practicals will be reconducted or allowed beyond schedule.

CBSE also issued detailed guidelines for heads of schools for smooth conduct of practical and written examinations. Instructions have also been given for the correct and timely assessment of exams for classes X and XII, for declaration of results on time.
