Iconic Week Celebrated by Department of School Education and Literacy

Under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Department of School Education and Literacy planned to celebrate Iconic Week from 17th to 21st January 2022. A series of events was organised as part of iconic week including international webinar on Toys and Games to Play, Make and Learn, 27th National Conference of Sahodaya School Complexes, and a webinar on Inclusive Education.

The theme of the webinar on Inclusive Education scheduled on 17th January 2022 was ‘Ed Tech start-ups focussed on children with special needs’. It had been organised in partnership with Atal Innovative mission (AIM) with the main purpose of creating awareness among teachers and parents about the availability of technology and assistive devices for children with special needs.

The theme of the 27th National Conference of Sahodaya School Complexes scheduled on 17th and 18th January, was ‘Punarnava-Rediscovery of India@75’. Its major aims were: engaging participants to co-create and contribute towards a sustainable future; and enabling the management of CBSE schools to become aware of the new policies and practices launched by the Board as per NEP 2020.

The aim of the International Webinar scheduled on 20th and 21st January 2022, was to rediscover the role of toys in the cognitive development of children including the promotion of the art of creating toys from low/no cost materials. A roadmap for inclusion and integration of toys and games in various stages of education was to be the outcome of the webinar.

Nation Innovative Week was also scheduled from 10th to 17th January by the Department of Higher Education.
