Monthly Newsletter | February 2022 | Volume 33
Dear Readers,
We are glad to present to you the February edition of the School 360 newsletter.
The education scenario started looking positive when schools all over the country began to reopen in August/September of 2021, after the COVID-19 pandemic induced prolonged closures. The first semester of exams was conducted offline with changes in the board examination pattern. But with the onset of the third wave of the pandemic, educational institutions began closing, in favour of online mode again, around the beginning of the new year. There is a disparity in their reopening time-frame now, based on the decision of the various state governments. In Maharashtra, primary classes have reopened in the last week of January. Karnataka announced the reopening of its educational institutions from 31st January, 2022. In Delhi, parents have filed a petition for reopening of schools. In the petition, it has been pointed out that apart from learning losses, closure of schools is resulting in physical and mental health issues along with risk of social isolation and developmental issues in younger children. As stated by Manish Sisodia, Deputy CM of Delhi, “I agree with the parents’ demands. We closed schools when it was not safe but excessive caution is now harming them. A generation of children will be left behind if we do not open schools now”.
In this edition, we have included these topics: Iconic Week Celebrated by Department of School Education and Literacy; Education Boards Urge Vaccination of Students Before Examinations Begin; Update on Board Examinations and Possibility of Cancellation; Pariksha Pe Charcha, Fifth Edition; International Conference of Academic Institutions on NEP 2020; CISCE Notice Regarding Enrolment to NCERT SWAYAM Courses for Classes 11 and 12.
We hope you will find this edition of the newsletter informative and enrich us with your valuable feedback.
Thank you.
