Postcards to PM by Students Under ‘75 lakh Postcard Campaign’

The ‘75 Lakh Postcard Campaign’ has been proposed by the Department of Posts (DoP), Ministry of Communication along with the Department of School Education and Literacy, and Ministry of Education (MoE), as part of the Indian Government’s ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (AKAM) initiative. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken the decision of conducting this event in all affiliated schools, along with students from all states and union territories.

Commemorating our country’s 75th anniversary of independence, the Government of India has planned a gamut of events under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The main purpose of this initiative is to make all Indian citizens aware about the glorious history of our country’s people, culture, and achievements. It is also a tribute to the ‘freedom fighters’ and ‘freedom movement’ of the nation.

Features of 75 Lakh Postcards Campaign are:

    • The schools will be required to arrange postcards priced at 50 paise for the students by coordinating with the local postal authorities.

    • Address will be rubber stamped on each postcard by the DoP (Department of Posts) and sent to the Prime Minister of India at South Block, New Delhi-110011.

    • Postcard writing campaign can be organised by the schools on any day till December 20, 2021. Ten postcards with the best ideas will be selected and uploaded on the CBSE portal. Remaining postcards will be sent to Delhi Nirman Bhawan Post Office.

    • 320 best selected postcards from schools will be evaluated and 75 out of these will be shortlisted at the national level for participation in the final event scheduled for the third/fourth week of January 2022.
