NEP is the Guiding Philosophy says the Education Minister, Calls for its Fast-tracking

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan asserted that the NEP should not be taken as merely a policy statement but a guiding philosophy for the transformation of the learning and skill landscape, and called for fast-tracking its implementation.

The Minister was addressing a joint meeting that had officers from Education and Skill Development ministries in attendance. He directed the officials to work towards enhancement of awareness in stakeholders with regard to the policy and create an environment for optimal skill-education convergence. The Joint meeting was attended by three Ministers of State (MoS) for Education -- Annapurna Devi, Subhas Sarkar, and Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.

In a tweet, the minister said "Along with my ministerial colleagues of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Ministry of Education, reviewed the progress made in the implementation of National Education Policy. Called for fast-tracking implementation, enhancing awareness and creating a strong skill-education convergence."

The Union Cabinet had approved the NEP in 2020 what is set to replace the national policy on education 1986.
