Educational system of India has been reformed significantly over the last decade. The reforms have been multi-faceted- transformation of student engagement with the educational content, teachers becoming knowledge facilitators from being knowledge providers, learning spaces having deep technology integration, to name a few. Initiatives are being taken by the governments at the national and state levels for the transformation of the education system. On the global level, UAE education entrepreneur and philanthropist Sunny Varkey, has launched GISA (Global Independent Schools Association)- the first worldwide representative body for the K-12 independent sector. This association has been launched with an urgent call for
greater knowledge sharing between the independent education sector and governments to aid in improving education across the world.
