Update on Board Examinations and Possibility of Cancellation

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have not yet announced the dates for the term 2 board examinations which are to be held in the months of March-April 2022. However, CBSE has announced that there will be no pattern change in the exams for both classes 10 and 12, warning against fake news regarding the same. CISCE is expected to provide the dates for the examinations after the results of the last board exam results have been released.

Students across India have asked for either postponement or cancellation of the 10 and 12 board exams of CBSE, CISCE, and several other education boards. This demand is due to the rise in COVID-19 and Omicron cases in the country. The students have also been asking for updates regarding the examinations on social media platforms such as Twitter.

On the other hand, several States have already announced board exam dates. The Maharashtra board exams for classes 10 and 12 are to begin from March 15, 2022. In Bihar, the board exam for class 12 will be held from February 1, 2022, and from February 17, 2022, for class 10. The Madhya Pradesh board exams were scheduled to start on January 20, 2022. The Uttar Pradesh Board exams are expected to commence after March 10, 2022, after the elections have ended.
