The New Education Policy 2019 has spawned diverse opinions and hopes. The latest was echoed by the President of India who said that the NEP will become instrumental in making India a “Knowledge Superpower”. He said that it will get global recognition for talents of students.
Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' commented, "The policy will lay the formation stone of new India and will provide technical, scientific and job-oriented education to girls, minorities and under-privileged sections of the society."
“The New Education Policy is to establish India as a ‘knowledge super power’ so the whole world recognizes the immense talent of the students of the country,” said Kovind in his convocation address at the Jamia Millia Islamia.
NEP was a point in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto ahead of the 2014 general election and it is being finally followed through in the second term of the party in the center. The NEP that is currently in place was framed in 1986 and was revised in 1992.
