Distinct Ways to Aid Virtual Learning

The pandemic with which the world is grappling with appears to have a prolonged duration with an increase in the count rate from around two thousand to three thousand cases per day. However, the fatality rate is low as compared to the number of people diagnosed with the disease. But still people around the world are taking precautionary measures and are locked up in their homes to contain the spread.

With the education sectors engaged in remote learning since the lockdown had commenced, technology has become a mandatory segment for the functioning of classes and delivery of lectures. All teachers and students are collaboratively tied up in virtual education to complete the syllabus on time.

Therefore, in order to bolster online learning, we can implement various methods for its smooth transition from traditional setup to a virtual framework which aids scholars and pupils at the same level. This would increase the possibility of students strengthening their technical skills which sets the basic parameter for K-12 education.

Some of the relevant ways that support virtual learning is as follows:

Assigning content : It is pertinent to plan, schedule, and assign content so that students would be precise with the curriculum. The flipped model is appropriate for this as it requires students to research on the prescribed subject before coming into the class and the teachers would only act as a guide in areas where they get stuck. Earlier in the traditional model teachers would research on a certain topic and deliver it in the class which requires less effort from the students to engage in the process of learning. The traditional method leaned on the rote-based approach which was a major hindrance to the development of cognitive level among students.

Virtual field trip: We can entertain students by taking them into the confined boundaries of the virtual world and the permission slip is not required. These virtual events are a remarkable experience that allows students to become spectators just by sitting at home. Apps like Google Expedition, Nearpod, etc enables educators to conduct virtual field trips

Design a pre-made lesson activity: Teachers should create a fun-based activity on the lesson and assign each student. This would generate amusement and they would take more interest in studies.

Activity-based learning is also helpful for a better understanding of the chapter.

Create Multimedia Lesson: Teachers have the option to make multimedia lessons using a collaborative studio. There is an option to add audio, video for teachers to customize it in their own way.

Student creativity: Give students a chance to unleash their creativity by giving them a topic that they are passionate about and research on the same to unleash their creativity. Create a studio board to demonstrate what they have learned. This would encourage them to be innovative and develop new perspectives and associate them with relatable concepts.

The virtual medium strategizes the need to attain technological literacy to cope up with the ongoing lockdown period. The educators have swapped to the digital method to maintain the necessary guidelines for social distancing. The physical classrooms create a synergy between scholars and pupils by collaboration, communication, and exchange of ideas which is sadly missing but the determination and diligence to study remain intact even with the online approach.
