CBSE Launched Nationwide Teacher Training for Skill Education

In a crucial move towards boosting classroom preparedness for the required Skill Education programme, the CBSE conducted a schedule of one-day Capacity Building Programmes for teachers. Started on 5.1.2026, CBSE carried on these offline coaching sessions at many locations throughout north India to support teachers with the strategies, methodologies and tools needed to carry out the new skill-based programme efficiently for Grades 6 to 8.

CBSE Launched Nationwide Teacher Training for Skill

The CBSE Board affirmed face-to-face coaching sessions at selected schools in Haryana, Delhi-NCR region and UP through a notification dated 31.12.2025. This initiative was a part of CBSE’s wider attempt to align school education with the NEP 2020 and ensured that middle school children got meaningful exposure to vocational and practical skills from an early level.

Training Schedules and Locations

On 5.1.2026, the initial phase of the programme began and ran for a week.

5th & 6th Jan - Varanasi, UP

Sunbeam Suncity (Jan 6th) and Little Flower House (Jan 5th) hosted the opening sessions, with local coordinators handling registrations.

7th Jan - Lucknow and Haryana

PIET Sanskriti Senior Secondary School (Panipat), Gateway International School (Sonipat), Lucknow Public School, Ashiyana and RBSM Public School (Gurugram) conducted coaching for teachers.

8th to 10th Jan - Delhi-NCR Areas

Mount Abu School (Rohini), Delhi Public School (Greater Faridabad), and groups of schools in Greater Noida and Modinagar, Ghaziabad, hosted the final sessions. CBSE advocated that school teachers and principals from all affiliated schools contact the assigned coordinators at each location to finish registration.

The programme laid strong emphasis on the Kaushal Bodh activities; competency-based learning resources built by NCERT to support the efficient execution of Skill Education at the middle school.

Why It Matters

CBSE took a critical measure toward moving classrooms away from rote learning to a competency-based and skill-oriented approach through this initiative. The Board aimed to ensure the seamless delivery of experiential and practical learning aligned with NEP 2020 through coaching teachers before the mandatory deployment of the programme.

Educators were well-prepared to incorporate skill-based activities into daily classroom habits as this landmark coaching series started in early January. Teachers and schools did registrations and referred to the Department of Skill Education or the official CBSE Academic website for complete details.
